Hours of Operation:

Mon-Sat: 6:00 AM until 9:00 PM

Sun: 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM

Calandra’s Bakery: Caldwell

Hours of Operation:

Sun-Thurs 7:00 AM until 9:00 PM

Fri & Sat 7:00 AM until 10 PM

Please note that all of our bakeries close at 5 PM on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

About Us

Calandra’s Bakery History

Our story begins in 1962 with the opening of Calandra’s Bakery in Newark, New Jersey.

Luciano Calandra, an Italian immigrant, had been in America for just five years when he went into business for himself and opened a small Italian and French bakery. Mr. Calandra and his wife Ortenza worked hard day and night, and their bakery quickly developed a reputation for producing delicious bread.

The business took off and soon after Mr. and Mrs. Calandra’s two sons, Anthony and Luciano Jr., began working in the family business.

Italian Rainbow Cookies

Layers of brightly colored, almond-based sponge cake, apricot and/or raspberry jam, and a chocolate coating.

Sfogliatelle

A crisp, flaky pastry filled with a creamy, sweet ricotta and citrus

Gelato Cake

Vanilla or chocolate cake with Chocolate and Vanilla Gelato Filling

Tiramisu Cake

Sponge cake soaked in coffee and liquor with powdered chocolate and mascarpone cheese, complete with ladyfinger cookies.

Cannoli Cake

Vanilla cake with cannoli filling and icing with crushed cannoli shells
